Remote Director of Information Technology

The Great Commission Ministries (GCM), operating as The Great Commission Foundation in Canada and Friends of the Great Commission in the U.S., is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting ministries by removing operational burdens and enabling them to focus on their missions. GCM serves as a platform that empowers ministries and donors alike, with the ultimate goal of fueling a movement of generosity, transformation, and Christ-centered service.

The Director of Systems & Technology is a newly created executive-level position reporting directly to the CEO. This individual will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the Systems & Technology team and driving the digital transformation of the organization. The position involves creating and executing an integrated technology roadmap, improving operational efficiencies, and safeguarding data and systems. It requires a strategic thinker who can lead change management, implement scalable solutions, and collaborate cross-functionally across departments to ensure technology directly supports the mission.

Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring the tech team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning, overseeing IT procurement and budgeting, and guiding digital initiatives that enhance the organization's maturity and impact. The role balances innovation with stability and security, requiring an agile approach to building systems that support GCM's ministry efforts.

The ideal candidate will bring 8–10 years of IT leadership experience (preferably in the for-profit sector), strong technical expertise in infrastructure and applications, and a deep understanding of nonprofit technology needs. Importantly, this individual must align with the organization's Christian values, be comfortable participating in spiritual practices with staff, and be willing to model Christ-like leadership both internally and externally.
