Technical Operations Manager 

Overview

We are a fast-growing faith-based technology company building a mobile platform designed to strengthen believers, connect communities, and advance the Great Commission.

We are looking for a Technical Operations & Release Manager who can help manage the technical systems that support our platform while also assisting the product team with organizing development work.

This role sits at the intersection of DevOps, IT administration, release management, and product operations.

You will work closely with the Product Manager and engineering team to ensure systems run smoothly, app releases are coordinated properly, and development work is clearly organized in Jira.

Because our mission is centered around faith and ministry, we are looking for someone who personally values the Great Commission and is excited about building technology that serves the Church.


Responsibilities -
 

I)  Technical Operations Ownership (70% of the job)

Technical Systems Management

Manage and maintain operational tools and platforms including:

  • SendGrid
  • Supabase
  • Firebase
  • Namecheap
  • Cloudflare
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Wix
  • GitHub
  • BrowserStack
  • GetStream

Responsibilities include:
  • Managing access and permissions
  • Maintaining API keys and environment configuration
  • Monitoring usage and billing
  • Ensuring proper security and access control

IT & Systems Administration
  • Manage domains and DNS configuration
  • Maintain software license inventory
  • Support onboarding/offboarding for team members
  • Assist with website deployment

Mobile App Release Management
  • Manage releases to Apple App Store and Google Play
  • Coordinate internal and external testers
  • Manage TestFlight and Play Console testing tracks
  • Submit builds for review and track approvals
  • Maintain release documentation and version tracking

Production Operations
  • Monitor Google Cloud Platform resources (included overseeing other small entities in BranchSix Portfolio)
  • Managing Billing and Usage – i.e) dashboards, reporting, flagging risk
  • Onboarding and offboarding technical team hires to the appropriate systems
  • Fully own infrastructure stability: triage performance or infrastructure issues
  • Manage staging vs production access
  • Own and support incident escalation, as needed

II) Product Operations Support (~ 30% of the job)

Work closely with the Product Manager to help organize development work in Jira.

Responsibilities include:
  • Translating product requirements into structured Jira tickets
  • Helping define edge cases
  • Writing acceptance criteria
  • Assisting with test cases
  • Organizing sprint boards and backlog
  • Supporting sprint planning

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has hands-on coding experience or a strong technical background, allowing them to understand how systems are built, debug issues more effectively, and collaborate closely with engineers
  • Has experience with DevOps or technical operations
  • Has worked in startups or small product teams
  • Ownership mentality; proactive at managing risk and coming up with solutions
  • Is comfortable managing multiple technical systems
  • Has experience with mobile app releases
  • Is highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Can think through edge cases and technical scenarios
  • Is proactive and enjoys solving operational problems
