This role is responsible for optimizing our data architecture, enabling efficient data collection, storage, and processing, and ensuring data quality across a variety of sources. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, be skilled in cloud technologies, and be passionate about delivering data solutions that drive business impact.

Primary Responsibilities of the Role
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data pipelines to collect, clean, and process large datasets into our data warehouse.
  • Data Infrastructure and Architecture: Architect and manage data warehousing and data lake solutions in cloud environments to support business analytics.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and optimize infrastructure to support business goals.
  • Optimization and Performance Tuning: Monitor and enhance database performance, tuning SQL queries, and optimizing storage and access patterns for fast, reliable data access.
  • Cross-Functional Tool Integration: Lead the integration of various cross-functional tools (e.g., HS, Zendesk, analytics platforms) into a central data lake to create a unified, accessible data source for all departments. This includes designing standardized ingestion processes, ensuring data consistency, and establishing efficient data flows across systems to facilitate seamless access and analytics across the organization.

A Successful Candidate Will:
  • Ensure Accountability: Holds self and others accountable for meeting data quality and delivery commitments. Sets clear responsibilities, establishes effective monitoring processes, and takes ownership of ensuring reliable data solutions. Designs feedback loops to consistently improve work quality and results.
  • Manage Complexity: Demonstrates skill in navigating complex data structures and multi-source integrations, applying critical thinking to solve intricate data challenges. Asks insightful questions and applies a structured approach to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize data solutions effectively.
  • Be Action-Oriented: Urgently and energetically takes initiative on technical challenges. Seizes new opportunities to improve data systems, displaying a proactive, “can-do” attitude when tackling issues and advancing projects on schedule.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Builds strong cross-functional partnerships, working closely with product, analytics, and data science teams to understand their needs and ensure data infrastructure supports their goals. Establishes trust, communicates clearly, and works towards shared objectives.
  • Communicate Effectively: Delivers clear, timely information across teams, tailoring communication for diverse audiences. Effectively explains complex data processes and technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on data infrastructure initiatives.

  • Experience: 5+ years in data engineering or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Snowflake, RDBMS's, Git, Jira
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Office Requirements:
  • We are a fully distributed team (100% remote) with travel required 1-2 times per year.
  • A stable work environment with designated workspace and access to high-speed internet.
  • US-based and legally able to work full time in the US. Sponsorships are not available at this time.
