Dollar For seeks an experienced tech and product leader to guide the next phase of our growth. This role is for a leader, designer, and builder ready to guide our healthcare non-profit to 6x our current capacity by using ethical AI, optimizing our UX, and streamlining internal processes to eliminate $1 billion in medical debt per year by 2028.

Most hospitals offer financial assistance programs that discount or forgive bills for patients based on income. Unfortunately, patients don’t always know about these programs or struggle to navigate them. Dollar For makes these charity care programs known, easy, and fair. We help patients check their eligibility for financial assistance, prepare and submit applications, and eliminate medical bills. Our model combines custom-built technology with trained patient advocates (PAs) to secure hospital bill forgiveness. Our services are completely free—no strings attached.

Since 2021, Dollar For has scaled from 100 patients served annually to nearly 20,000 patients in 2025 through a technology-enabled, labor-intensive model. Now, Dollar For has received meaningful grant funding to execute an AI-focused technical development plan for scale—while preserving the trust, accuracy, and human oversight that patients and hospitals require and have come to expect from Dollar For.

This role will lead the development and integration of key AI tools into our existing tech stack, while also optimizing our existing tools to improve the patient experience and outcomes. In partnership with our current 2-person tech team and consulting partners, you will lead, design, and build systems that meet our scale goal.

The successful candidate will have 10 years of experience leading roadmaps in partnership with staff and consultants, while also maintaining a desire to work directly in codebases to develop new features and tools. Experience building internal operational tools, and separately, integrating AI into production environments is a plus. They will have a strong sense of humility and team collaboration and a deep passion for healthcare affordability, economic justice, or systems reform.

We seek to build a team of employees who want opportunities to grow and stretch with us over time. We commit to being a place you truly enjoy working with a culture where everyone celebrates the successes, gives and receives supportive feedback, and works together to solve problems and help patients.

Responsibilities

2027 Priorities

Continue building and launching AI-powered and similarly automated tools to reduce manual work for the patient advocate team. This could include chatbots, inbound automated phone lines, etc.

Scope, test, and implement document validation to ease patient form completion and application accuracy.

Optimize the Dollar For website and forms to increase form completion rates, with careful attention to user experience, trust, and accessibility.

IT Principal Software Engineer

About the Company

Logos is a purpose-driven tech company dedicated to building technology solutions that equip the church to grow in the light of the Bible. Our team is committed to increasing biblical literacy and accessibility for every Christian around the world. We do so by delivering value along three fronts: software tools, community collaboration, and rich digital content. Based in Bellingham, Washington, Logos also has operations in Chandler, Arizona and Puebla, Mexico.

About the Role

We're looking for a Data Scientist to join our Analytics team, reporting to the Director of Analytics and Data Science. You'll work as a peer to our Staff Data Scientist, jointly owning the data science function at Logos—predictive modeling, experimentation, and the recommendations work that shapes how hundreds of thousands of customers discover and use our products.

This is a role with real ownership. You will decide how to approach problems, what methods fit, and—just as importantly—what isn't worth doing. We're a lean team inside a company in the middle of a significant data transformation, which means the work is broad and the impact is visible, but it also means we need someone who brings their own judgment rather than waiting for direction.

We're results-driven, not academic. A model or analysis is only good if it measurably reduces churn, increases usage, or drives revenue. Methodological elegance that doesn't move a business metric isn't a win here.

Responsibilities

Own data science projects end to end—problem framing, method selection, modeling, validation, and presenting results to the leaders who will act on them.

Ship data science work as certified, production-ready data products: models, scores, and features that other teams can trust and build on.

Design, run, and interpret experiments, including hypothesis formulation, sizing, and honest reads on inconclusive results.

Build and maintain predictive models and analytical pipelines in Python or R, SQL, and dbt on Databricks.

Help set the data science roadmap alongside the Staff Data Scientist and the Director, including pushing back when a request won't produce value.

Partner with Data Champions, the embedded analysts distributed across our business teams, so that data science output gets adopted rather than just delivered.

Work with the Data Platform team to validate data quality and the reliability of upstream data products.

Mentor analysts and less experienced team members, and contribute to code review and team standards.

Keep documentation and reproducible code current enough that a colleague could pick up your work without you in the room.

Requirements

4–7 years of professional experience in data science, applied statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.

A track record of owning projects independently, from ambiguous ask through delivered result, without daily oversight.

A results-driven mindset: you judge your own work by measurable business impact—churn, usage, revenue—and you can tell when a model isn't earning its keep.

Strong SQL and fluency in Python or R.

Solid grounding in statistics and experimental design, including knowing the limits of what a given test can tell you.

The judgment to prioritize: deciding what to work on, what to defer, and what to decline.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical work to non-technical audiences and to hold your position when the data supports it.

Preferred Requirements

Experience as the only data scientist—or one of very few—on a team, where you had to operate without a technical safety net.

Hands-on experience with Databricks and dbt.

Exposure to production ML systems, recommendation engines, or MLOps practices.

Experience in a subscription or SaaS business, particularly around churn, retention, and usage analytics.

Familiarity with a data mesh or distributed analytics operating model.

Why This Role

Data science at Logos is small, which means your work is not one input among dozens—it is the data science capability of the company. You'll have latitude to shape how the function operates, a Staff Data Scientist to think alongside, and a Director who will back your judgment. As the team and the company's data maturity grow, so does the scope available to you.

Benefits

Competitive family medical, dental, vision, and life insurance

3 company-paid holidays per year in addition to regular holidays

4 days of paid time off (PTO) per year

Paid time off (PTO) on your birthday

Law benefits (15-day Christmas bonus, vacation days established by law, 25% vacation bonus)

Awards and recognition program

About GiveDirectly

GiveDirectly has delivered more than $1B in cash directly to 2+ million people living in poverty across 15 countries since 2011. We believe cash transfers are one of the most scalable, cost-effective, and dignified forms of aid, with the research to back it up. Our work has been covered by The Economist, NPR, TED, and The Washington Post. We are one of Time100’s Most Influential Companies of 2026.

Our culture is candid, analytical, and non-hierarchical. We support high ownership and real professional growth. Curious about what it's really like to work here? Read our values and hear from the people who do. If they resonate, this could be a great fit!

We’re growing at incredible speed, and expect to hit $1B in revenue in 2026 with significant growth forecast for 2027. We’re hiring a Chief Technology Officer to lead the building and rebuilding of the technology, systems and ways of working that will enable a sustained $5B+ p/a operation.

You will build software that safely and securely moves billions of dollars to millions of vulnerable people in some of the poorest and highest need parts of the world. This will require applying excellent engineering, team building and organizational judgment to complex, high-stakes operations: identity and fraud management, machine learning on large but imperfect datasets (cell phone data, satellite imagery, government registries), mobile money integrations, low-connectivity environments, rapidly evolving requirements all in diverse regulatory environments and country contexts. You’ll need to keep our legacy technology stack stable and performant, while in parallel building new systems from the ground up for our next level of scale.

You will lead engineering, data, security and enterprise technology – with a small, mighty and rapidly growing engineering team of ~15, and the expectation that this can at least double to ~30 in the next 12 months if you want it to. You’ll report to a CEO with deep experience running technology companies, and partner with our VP Product.

This role is remote, with working hours between US Eastern Time and East African Time, and some preference for candidates in our office hubs of New York, London, or Nairobi.

What we’re looking for:

An exceptional hirer, manager and organizer of technical talent. Proven record identifying, hiring, developing and retaining excellent engineers and engineering leaders, and creating team processes that consistently deliver software with quality and velocity.

Deep technical judgment, applied close to the work. You can evaluate major designs, pressure-test architecture and build-vs-buy decisions, and recognize when a team is heading the wrong way, without becoming the primary implementer. Low-ego: you’ll investigate a problem yourself when that’s what the situation requires.

Business judgment and decisiveness under ambiguity. You’re not just a technical leader, you’re also a business executive. You understand the business, are a strong cross-functional partner, and have a history of good judgment when navigating tradeoffs of long vs. short term, speed, reliability, security, flexibility, cost, technical quality, and user impact.

AI first. You have a point of view on where AI meaningfully changes engineering productivity and organizational capability, and you’ve moved a team from experimentation to real, measured use. You can set the tools, culture, goals, and guardrails that leverage the opportunities and mitigate the risks of an AI first engineering culture.

Embody and set an example for GD values. We take our values incredibly seriously, and expect our leaders to embody, nurture, and promote them in the way they work and the teams they build.

Advantages, not requirements. Experience in an operationally complex or regulated domain (fintech, payments, humanitarian response, global development); systems involving financial controls, fraud risk, identity, or sensitive recipient data; operating across multiple countries, particularly lower-income or infrastructure-constrained ones; leading both modern product engineering and enterprise technology.

What you’ll do

Define our technology vision and target stack. Own the technical strategy for technology-first delivery at $5B+/year: architecture, platforms, build-vs-buy, and what we retire. Work with executive, product, finance, risk, and data leaders to turn program and product strategy into a sequenced, credible portfolio of technical investments.

Balance a demanding portfolio. You'll manage six workstreams that all matter and won't all move at once: (1) building our new cash delivery stack (remote-first verification, fraud prevention, massive volume) (2) stabilizing our legacy stack until switchover, then managing the migration; (3) donor-facing fundraising products; (4) our global emergency cash system (and eventual white-labelling of that product); (5) enterprise technology; (6) internal tooling, platform, and cybersecurity. Deciding sequencing and staffing across these (and saying "not yet" credibly) is the job.

Build and grow an exceptional technology organization. Recruit outstanding engineering and technology talent, design the org GiveDirectly needs at its next stage of scale (engineering, product, data, security, infrastructure, enterprise systems), and create the accountability, decision rights, and career paths to sustain high talent density. Grow the engineering team from 15 to ~30 with a lean but durable management structure.

Own the technical direction and quality bar. Guide consequential decisions on integrations, data, security, reliability, and technical debt. Ensure our systems can safely support a major increase in transaction volume, geographic reach, and organizational dependence on technology. Set a pragmatic quality bar appropriate to high-stakes financial delivery while preserving speed.

Lead across organizational boundaries. Serve as a member of GiveDirectly’s executive team, reporting to the CEO and bringing technology into major strategic and operating decisions. Help non-technical leaders understand technical constraints and costs, build credibility with country and functional leaders by understanding their realities, and force clarity when priorities, ownership, or tradeoffs are ambiguous.

Travel. Approximately 4–6 trips per year, including visits to GiveDirectly countries of operation.

Compensation

At GiveDirectly, we strive to pay our employees generously and equitably. We use an accredited third party salary aggregator to calculate what we believe to be competitive pay based on role, location, and cost of living. We also have a no negotiation policy so pay is consistent across comparable roles.

Total Compensation (US) of $366,000 – $518,000 comprised of:

Base Salary: $300,000 – $375,000

Sr. Lead Data Engineer

YOUR ROLE

You would be the first person dedicated to building the data and automation backbone of Desiring God's Donor Partnership team — a brand-new role at the intersection of technical systems builder and warm, theologically grounded communicator. Until now, donor lifecycle intelligence and automated communications have lived across a mix of manual processes and ad-hoc workflows inside Pipedrive, limiting how consistently the team could surface the right moment to reach out and the right words to say. You would change that by architecting the systems that make Desiring God's donor relationships feel more attentive and more human at scale, not less.

Your primary focus would be building and maintaining the data infrastructure and automated communication workflows that let the Donor Partnership team spend their limited relational capacity where it matters most. On the data side, that means creating dashboards in Sigma, maintaining data hygiene across systems, and surfacing specific opportunities for partner growth, retention, or re-engagement. On the systems side, it means configuring the triggers, segments, suppression rules, and timing logic that turn those insights into a reliable, always-on layer of relational touchpoints. And because those touchpoints are only as good as their words, you would also write the warm, mission-aligned copy that carries Desiring God's voice through every automated email.

This is a new role — there's no existing process to inherit, which means real ownership over how this function gets built and meaningful room to shape it as it matures. You would report to the Director of Donor Partnership and work closely with the rest of the team and Desiring God’s Data Scientist and Director of Spreading to translate donor data into both smart systems and genuine words of gratitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Data & Lifecycle Intelligence (50%): Build and maintain dashboards in Sigma, monitor and maintain data hygiene between Hub and other systems, and identify specific opportunities for partner growth, retention, or re-engagement — so no meaningful partner moment goes unnoticed and the team is always working from current, data-informed intelligence.

Automation Architecture & Systems (40%): Design, build, and maintain automated donor communication workflows by configuring journey logic in Customer.io — triggers, segments, suppression rules, and timing tied to the lifecycle and growth moments identified through Hub data — creating a scalable, reliable infrastructure of relational touchpoints that frees the team for high-value personal engagement.

Donor Communication Copywriting (10%): Write and maintain the donor-facing email content within automated workflows, drafting warm, mission-aligned messages that reflect Desiring God's voice, theological convictions, and genuine gratitude for our partners' support.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You Are

3–5 years of experience with CRM or marketing automation platforms (Virtuous, Salesforce, HubSpot, Customer.io, or similar).

Demonstrated ability to build automated, multi-step communication workflows — triggers, segmentation, suppression logic, and timing.

Comfort with mining data to surface actionable insight — you can build a dashboard and also know what question it should answer.

Experience with a BI or reporting tool (Sigma, Looker, Tableau, or similar) is a plus.

Strong writing skills — able to shift fluidly between technical system logic and warm, donor-facing prose.

Detail-oriented with data hygiene — comfortable owning the unglamorous work of keeping systems clean and in sync.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Experience in a nonprofit, ministry, or donor-relations context is a plus.

You Are

A builder who's equally at home architecting a workflow and drafting the email that runs through it — you don't need a handoff between the technical and the relational.

A translator: you take raw donor data and turn it into a clear, specific opportunity someone on the team can act on.

Systems-minded — you think in triggers, segments, and edge cases, and you build things that keep working when you're not the one watching them.

A careful writer who can sound like Desiring God — warm, theologically grounded, and genuinely grateful — even when the message is automated.

Someone who treats data hygiene and quiet maintenance as real craftsmanship, not just a means to the interesting work.

A Christian genuinely moved by the mission: you see donor systems not as back-office plumbing but as a way to help real relationships between Desiring God and its partners feel seen and known.

The Team

You would report to the Director of Donor Partnership and sit inside the Donor Partnership team — the group responsible for Desiring God's relationships with financial partners.
